Construction Manager About McClain Bros: McClain Bros, a family-owned company with over 26 years of experience in plumbing, heating, HVAC, electrical work, and home remodeling. Job duties include but are not limited to: The Construction Manager will coordinate, and manage all aspects of a building project from start to finish, ensuring it's completed on time and within budget, while adhering to design specifications and safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities and Tasks: - Project Planning & Management:
- Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, and timelines.
- Oversee construction activities, ensuring they align with plans and specifications.
- Monitor project progress and identify potential issues, implementing corrective actions as needed.
- Manage subcontractors and contractors, ensuring quality and timely completion of work.
- Budget & Cost Control:
- Estimate project costs, including labor, materials, and equipment.
- Manage project budgets, track expenses, and identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Negotiate contracts and manage change orders effectively.
- Quality Control & Safety:
- Ensure adherence to building codes, regulations, and safety standards.
- Implement and enforce safety protocols on the construction site.
- Conduct regular inspections to ensure quality of work and identify defects.
- Communication & Leadership:
- Communicate effectively with clients, stakeholders, subcontractors, and team members.
- Lead and motivate the construction team, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
- Resolve conflicts and address issues promptly and effectively.
- Permitting & Documentation:
- Obtain necessary permits and licenses for the project.
- Maintain accurate records of project activities, including progress reports, change orders, and inspections.
Skills Required: - Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of construction methods, building codes, and safety regulations.
- Project Management Skills: Excellent planning, scheduling, and organizational skills.
- Communication & Leadership Skills: Ability to communicate effectively, lead teams, and resolve conflicts.
- Budgeting & Financial Skills: Ability to estimate costs, manage budgets, and track expenses.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to identify and resolve issues effectively.
Qualifications: A bachelor's degree in a related field like construction management, engineering, or architecture is required, though we may consider associate degrees and relevant experience.
