WorkSource Montgomery, Inc. (WSM) is a nonprofit organization and fiduciary agent for Workforce Innovation Opportunity Act funding in Montgomery County. The non-profit organization operates the American Job Centers in Wheaton and Germantown and provides employment services to county residents who are unemployed or underemployed. Additionally, WSM engages employers in various industries throughout the county to ensure that their workforce needs are being met.

Position Overview

WSM is seeking a mission-driven, detail-oriented Engagement Coordinator, Work-Based Learning to support and expand our employer engagement efforts. This role is critical in executing and sustaining employer partnerships that drive career-connected learning experiences for high school students. While this position is not student-facing, your work will directly impact MCPS students by ensuring that partnerships are high-quality, strategic, and scalable.

The Engagement Coordinator will work closely with the Senior Manager of Work-Based Learning, and MCPS staff to cultivate employer relationships, coordinate logistics for internships, youth apprenticeships, career events, manage data and compliance, and ensure effective communication between partners and internal teams.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Support relationship management with existing and prospective employer partners.
  • Coordinate, schedule, and monitor employer engagement in work-based learning initiatives. (e.g., site visits).
  • Maintain up-to-date records in CRM systems.
  • Create and send communications to employer partners, including reminders, thank you notes, and logistical information.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (e.g., school staff, communications, operations) to ensure seamless program execution.
  • Support contract tracking, MOUs, and required documentation for compliance.
  • Assist in the planning and execution of employer-facing events and convenings.
  • Present information and represent the organization at events, meetings, and partnership engagements, including those that occur during early mornings, evenings, or weekends.
  • Collect and organize feedback from partners for continuous improvement.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in education, Business or equivalent experience.

Experience:

  • 2+ years of experience in program coordination, partnership development, or employer engagement.
  • Experience working in education, nonprofit, or workforce development preferred.
  • Comfortable using tools like Google Workspace, Excel, CRM software, and project management platforms.
  • Experience with youth apprenticeship implementation.
  • A team player with a solutions-focused mindset and ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills with attention to detail.
  • Clear, professional communication style-both verbal and written.
  • Proactive and self-motivated.
  • Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Passionate about education and workforce development.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Must have daily access to reliable transportation.

Status: Full Time. This position follows a hybrid work schedule, which may be adjusted or revoked based on individual performance and organizational needs.

Location: T he position will be based in Wheaton, MD. Applicants should be local to the DC Metro region. This position follows a hybrid work schedule with occasional in-person meetings.
