We are looking for a technician who is sick and tired of installing the same boring old garage doors and simple spring replacements. We set our technicians up to succeed with a truck that doesn't lack space for the proper tools, parts, and organization. We want you to be successful here at Southwest Garage Doors! Able to lift 50+ pounds Southwest Garage Doors seeks an experienced Garage Door Installer to perform installations, service, and repairs for the greater Phoenix, AZ area. If you have prior experience working as a garage repair technician (residential or commercial), please apply. As a garage door installer at Southwest Garage Doors, you will travel in a company work truck to the customer’s home or new construction project. Communicate with the point of contact, set up work area, unload all materials, and install all materials that are required for that project. Work alongside other trades and team members to execute a "CUSTOM" installation for the client or builder. Able to follow instructions and problem-solve any issues that arise. Complete Notes & Pictures of the installation when finished and discuss any issues with the client or builder. Communicate that information to management. Installers must manage the truck and its inventory as well as their schedule and client communications.   • Clean & Professional Work! ("This is good enough" will not fly here)
  • Pick up or load garage doors at our office needed for the day
  • Install different manufacture types of garage doors: Martin, Amarr, Hormann, Clopay, CHI, Elegant, Ranch House True Wood Doors, Schweiss Hanger Doors, Commercial Sectionals, Commercial Rolling Steels, Security Shutters, Exterior Screens
  • Configure Replacement Spring combo's
  • Repair various types of garage doors and openers
  • Products, buildings, and applications differ case by case; the candidate must be able to choose the best solutions for each application as it pertains to safety, functionality, and performance
  • The Repair Technician will also troubleshoot, repair,r and perform periodic maintenance on new and existing equipment
Qualifications:
  • Previous experience servicing/installing garage doors - knowledge of the principles, techniques, equipment and supplies used in the residential garage door service
  • Mechanical aptitude – knowledge and skilled in using various hand and power tools
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees and general public
  • Clear communicator, charismatic, and comfortable in face-to-face client interactions
  • Team player; strong collaboration skills
  • Training experience, preferable
  • Be a self-starter with the ability to operate without direct supervision at all times
  • Ability to troubleshoot, think independently, and problem-solve
  • Organized and methodical work ethic
  • Basic math and legible handwriting
  • Punctual and excellent attendance record
Experience
  • Residential Garage Door Installation/Repairs: Minimum 1 year (Required)
  • Commercial Garage Door Installation/Repairs experience (Preferred, but not required)
  • Able to lift 50+ pounds
