Job Description

Century Metal Spinning Company is a metal spinning and machining manufacturer that utilizes a collaborative engineering process to provide components and product in the Aerospace, Space, Defense, R & D , and other industries. As an essential member of the team the Junior Engineer works under the direction of the Engineering Manager, developing skills for designing in-house tooling, understanding manufacturing methods and processes, and learning about new technologies as they apply to the company's products and processes.

*Areas of Responsibility:

• Create detailed 3D CAD models and 2D CAD drawings from engineering prints with varying levels of specificity.
• Assist with tooling and fixturing design for a range of manufacturing processes including spinning, machining, and inspection.
• Maintain and update data related to parts, tooling, and processes within the ERP system.
• Maintain and improve engineering resources to expand overall capabilities.
• Complete and manage engineering change orders as required.
• Follow and support all applicable AS9100 standards and procedures.
• Stay current with industry trends, technical developments and best engineering practices.
• Assist Engineering Department as required.
• Setup and operation of the Robotic Cell.

*Experience and Knowledge:

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent field (i.e. Manufacturing Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, etc.).
• 0-2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience with Solidworks or an equivalent 3D CAD software.
• Knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.
• Mechanical familiarity with machines and tools, including their designs and use.
• Knowledge of various manufacturing processes (i.e. sheet metal forming, punching, shearing, spinning, turning, milling, heat treating, welding, etc.).
• Familiarity with mechanical properties of different metals (i.e. aluminum, copper, carbon steel, stainless steel, tool steels, etc.).
• Knowledge of production processes, quality control, etc..
• Ability to import and export data related to engineering tooling and products.
• Ability to use logic and reasoning in approaches to problem solving.
• Ability to read, write and communicate efficiently in English with internal and external personnel in a professional manner.
