Under the direction of the Staff Services Manager I (SSMI), in a full journey level capacity, the Associate Governmental Program Analyst (AGPA) is responsible for regulation, legislation, policy, examination, and outreach activities for the California State Board of Optometry (Board). The AGPA researches, analyzes, and makes recommendations to the Board regarding legislative proposals and regulatory changes; prepares analyses of the potential operational and fiscal impacts of legislative proposals and regulatory changes; serves as the Outreach Coordinator, maintaining the Board's social media accounts, informational bulletins, and website; coordinates the Subject Matter Experts who work with the Office of Professional Exam Services (OPES) to develop the Board's California Laws and Regulations Examination (CLRE); and provides administrative support to Board Members and the Executive Officer.

The office is on the ground floor of a two story building with easy freeway access. Normal office temperature and lighting conditions are present. Staff members use computers daily and work in cubicles. Some in-state travel may be required.
Conflict of Interest Filing
This position is subject to Title 16, section 3830 of the California Code of Regulations, the Department of Consumer Affairs' Conflict of Interest Regulations. The incumbent is required to submit a Statement of Economic Interests (Form 700) within 30 days of assuming office, annually by April 1st, and within 30 days of leaving office.
